All Work and No Play...

Let me tell you, I hadn't been so happy for a friday to come and be gone in a long time. It was a busy thursday and friday working and trying to get over my head cold that doesn't seem to be quite finished with bringing me down yet.

My job for Thursday was an editorial. For a half day job I was rather shocked on arrival when I was told there was going to be 11 looks. The reason for having 11 was that there was that many chairs that were going to be a focal point in the story. To my dismay, I wasn't going to be sat down in these chairs, rather posing with them in different ways. After the first few shots being shown a picture of what they wanted me to do and realised it wasn't working and they were not going to achieve the exact same thing from a previous photo, they allowed me to do my own thing. As a model who has been working for about 4 years now, I know what to do and can get it done! However, in foreign countries such as South Korea, photographers don't necessarily have full confidence until later one.

But, to my luck, things were much better upon being able to make my own choices and they shoot turned out lovely!
Although, something more exciting did happen this past thursday..it was Morwenna's birthday! I was so gutted when I found out I couldn't spend the whole day celebrating with her due to my job, but I did the best I could. While I was at work her and our flatmate Marina checked out the aquarium and from the photos it looked like they had a really great time! After I finished work and we all had a casting, we all went to our favorite Korean restaurant, just a little place where they do bbq and traditional food. We had a really great time.

One thing was missing though, we hadn't had a chance to do brunch at Butterfinger Pancake like we had done for my birthday the previous week. With that being said, Saturday was Morwenna's Belated Birthday Brunch.

So, after the gym and having worked up quite the appetites we gorged ourselves on a plate of all the different pancakes that Butterfinger makes. They were scrumptious but we were slightly overzealous on the amount we could eat and needed a good twenty minutes to recuperate before being able to leave the restaurant.

To back track now to my job Friday, I was shooting a campaign for this women's clothing wear company that is targeted at 30-40 year olds. It was a rather straightforward job and I had a good time and was constantly being handed bits of chocolate to keep my energy up. Everyone from the company was great and we had a good time, but at the end of the day, I was knackered and couldn't wait to go home.

Saturday evening proved to take an interesting turn. Morwenna and I had planned to go to Hongdae at night, the university area to check out the scene and some bars. It's meant to be cheap, young and rather eclectic. As we were plotting our plan of action our flatmate Iona got a phone call from a friend in Tokyo. Long story short, we were all invited to take part at the Beats by Dre party at one of the clubs we have all gone to before here in Seoul. After being picked up by drivers the 5 of us were taken to this club Eden and escorted upstairs to a room filled with all sorts of goodies and various drinks. The room was filled with some other models, but mostly people who worked for either Eminem or Dr. Dre. We had a good time and it was interesting to meet new people.

As much as this life as a model can be somewhat humdrum compared to the idea people tend to think it to be. It does take some interesting turns!
