Friday and I'm feeling good!

This week has brought the heat, fun, and good news!

After a great campaign shoot on Tuesday, Morwenna came home early from work on wednesday and with her she brought good news! Our driver/manager Jinny had offered to drop us at the outdoor swimming pool after our casting. It seemed to be that only her and I were keen, so we gathered up our swimming gear and after our casting headed to a mini paradise down by Han River.

After we found ourselves a good spot to put all of our things and lay out our towels we made our entrance into the pool, we weren't even half way in when a lifeguard came out and explained to us in some sort of broken english/sign language that we had to wear swimming caps. Darn! So we got out, got our purses and headed over to the little shop to buy ourselves said caps. There was a choice between colorful, black, or white. But we both figured if we had to wear them, might as well go all for it! That being said, we chose the colorful ones!
Did we look like geeks? Yes, did we own it? ABSOLUTELY!

Thursday led to great things as well. We started the day at the gym with a core training class, the instructor remembered us from the last time we took the class and told us that last time one was better than the other, and this time it swapped. After that I sent off some postcards, after going the wrong direction to the post office and sweating like an animal, I discovered if I would have turned right instead of left, I would have been 30 seconds away and I wouldn't have had to walk 2km to come to a dead end.

In the eve Morwenna and I decided that it would be the day we go to Itaewon, the area located near the American Army Base, to try and have some fun with some soliders. To our surprise, we only saw one small group of soliders, the rest were just random expats. However, after looking at an import shop filled with yummy goodies and having a cold drink with some vegan scones and banana bread, we decided to put our previous Itaewon pub research to use. And it's a good thing we did!

We decided to check out our first choice "Sam Ryan's" sports bar, we were going to see what else looked good, until we saw what was on offer that night, Thursday night was 1500 won pint of OB beer. Basically a pint of decent better for just over £1.00. We're not stupid so we did it! Along with that we decided to get some nachos, I did have a stomach ache after... but it was worth it!
While we were stuffing ourselves and drinking our bargain beer, we got a call from Sunny, our manager at the agency letting us know that we both had booked the Colombo campaign which will have their advert in Italian Vogue. We were both ecstatic as we had wanted to work together, and hey, what better job to do together than a cool campaign!

After wandering back home happy, and with full bellies we went to sleep. But the good news didn't stop there for me, I found out from my mother agent Michael at Mode Models that I was now represented in NYC with MIX model management, a brand new agency started by Wayne Sterling (co-founder of models.com) and Neal Hamil (previous director of Ford and Elite). I haven't had an agency in NY for some time and I'm looking forward to the adventure that it will bring!

I hope you have all been enjoying watching the Olympics, and have a lovely weekend!

  1. It's good to know that models are just swim cap wearing nacho eaters.
